Chinese “5 arts 五術” have its individual lineage; it seems they are separated into 5 categories. In fact it is not, they are linking up together. That’s why most people start interesting in one art but they will continue to learning the others later.
How do we see this connection?
When we read the books, some of the terminology is not belonging into that type of art, but the writer has the intention put it there. Such as the dragon vein, this is either coming from the medical arts or just vice reverse. The parent, spouse, offspring, officer, ghost, money terms also appear in divination, astrology and Feng Shui.
Good lineages fully understand these 5 arts relationship and clearly explain the theory between them without conflict. Same principle can be applying in any of these 5 arts. Therefore once you can manage one art very good, your master shows you how to extend your knowledge to other 4 arts, then you have know those arts in a short period of time without start learning from the beginning. It is a huge time saving.
Whether this happens on you or not is depending on your personality and luck, because these entire masters will follow a universal law to teach the right and good people.
If you are serious in this knowledge, then don’t wait, you should equip yourself to be a real good person to attract the right master approaching you. Life is short, there are how many “ten years” for you to waste?
隨緣所止
山醫卜星相,
艱辛路險長。
心誠明師引,
破解重重障。
五嶽來回走,
一線任翱翔。
各隨緣所止,
不二法門揚!
I remember one of my students told me on one day, “Now I truly understand only the master has the right to choose me. It is not money exchangeable.”
